The COUNTRYSIDE on SHOW Open Weekend

at the Out of Town Centre, Beaulieu - To raise funds for the Trust

Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st July 2013

10.00am – 4.00pm each day

Come and check out your local Countryside and enjoy a fun-filled day with something for everyone!

·         Tractor displays in the arena

·         Meet the farm animals, sit on a tractor, collect the eggs, explore the farm and garden trails and help to milk the goats

·         Vintage tractors, engines and farm machinery

·         Pizza making in our field kitchen mud ovens

·         Local Craftsmen, woodworking & machinery demonstrations

·         Pony Rides

·         Frontiersmen

·         Waterside Archers

·         Refreshments with homemade cakes

Entrance: £4 per adult, £2 per child, Friends £3.50/£1.50 

No need to book - just turn up! Free car parking as directed opposite Out of Town Centre entrance.  Dogs welcome on leads.


COMMUNITY EVENTS

 

The 4 Essentials of Survival

Wednesday 21st August

10.00 am – 4.00 pm - at the Treehouse Study Centre

£20.00 per person/Friends £18.00

Learn about the 4 essentials of survival and the basics of bushcraft. With practical tuition on fire-lighting, shelter building, knife safety and much more. Gain enough practical knowledge to help you survive the wilds of the New Forest. Open to adults and family groups (minimum age 11). Under 16s to be accompanied by participating adults.

 

Introduction to Archery

Friday 26th July & Thursday 8th August

10.00 am – 11.30 am  & 2.00 pm – 3.30 pm

Meet at the OTC  -  £15.00 per person/Friends £12.00

Learn the basics of bare bow shooting and take part in some archery games. Suitable for adults and children age 8+. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult. Leaders are GNAS qualified staff from the Countryside Education Trust.

 

Field Archery – archery the way nature intended

Thursday 15th & Thursday 22nd August

1.00 pm  – 4.00 pm - at the Treehouse Study Centre

£25.00 per person/Friends 20.00

Experience what it would be like to hunt the way our ancestors did with a bow and arrow. Move around the field archery course through our enclosed woodland, shooting at different targets, elevations and un-given distances.  Suitable for adults and children age 12+. Children must be accompanied by a participating adult.
 

EVENTS FOR ALL AGES 

Little Owls Parent & Toddlers Club

Come and have fun exploring nature for 2-4 year olds with adults Meetings are usually the first Fri and following Mon of each month.  Choose from two sessions: 10.00am – 12.00 noon or 1.00 – 3.00pm

Fri 7th & Mon 10th June - Flowers and colours in the garden

Fri 5th & Mon 8th July -            Teddy Bears Picnic

NOTE:  There is no Little Owls in August

All sessions in the Summer programme are at the Out of Town Centre

Big Owls Club

Fun, discovery activities for 4 – 6 year olds with adults

Meetings are usually held in the school holidays

10.00am – 12.30pm & 1.30pm – 4.00pm.

CHILDREN’S PARTIES

If you want something different – outdoor and eco-friendly, we have two great venues: The magical Treehouse Study Centre and Out of Town Centre Farm at Beaulieu with a range of fun activities.

Themes include Survival for 7 year olds + and Campfire Experience for 10 year olds+, a range of exciting themes for 4 – 10 year olds including Robin Hood, Pirates, Fairies & Elves, Dinosaurs, Bugs and Animals based at the Treehouse Study Centre all year round and farm parties in spring and summer at the Out of Town Centre.
