Beaulieu Estate

Weekly residential groups have free access to the services of Education at Beaulieu.

The National Motor Museum

With over 200 exhibits, the world-famous National Motor Museum is a natural choice for a visit by any group studying transport or how we used to live. The major exhibition 'Wheels', with its unique ride-through display, will stimulate pupils' interest in the story of motoring. Programmes include lectures and participatory tours on "The History of Motoring", "Victorians", 1930s", etc.

Beaulieu Abbey

The ruins of Beaulieu Abbey which survived the Dissolution include the beautiful Cloisters, the Monks' Refectory (now the Abbey Church) and the Lay Brothers' Quarters. The Abbey Exhibition traces the life and work of the Cistercian monks from 1204 to the Dissolution. Role-play activities and skills workshops are available on both "Mediaeval Life" and "Tudors and Stuarts".

Palace House

Formerly the great Gate House of Beaulieu Abbey, Palace House is now the home of Lord Montagu. Role-play activity days on a Victorian or Edwardian theme are offered during the autumn and winter in conjunction with the Motor Museum. Alternative programmes are offered in the summer.

Buckler's Hard

This 18th Century ship-building village is an ideal destination for students of "Ships and Seafarers", with a Maritime Museum and re-constructed 18th century cottage interiors. Role-guides introduce students to the story of 18th century ship-building and social life.
